DES PLAINES, Ill., (Jan. 17, 2013) –The American Society of Home Inspectors® (ASHI) introduced its 2013 Board of Directors, led by incoming president Bill Jacques, at the annual InspectionWorld educational conference in Las Vegas today. Leadership plans to address issues from home safety to organizational growth that are important to the general public as well as to ASHI members.

“Chapters are a lifeline for ASHI members, connecting them to meetings, networking, professional development and support,” said Jacques. “Better communication with our members is a key priority as we continue to maintain the high bar for excellence in our industry and help our members succeed.”

Jacques, based in Ravenel, S.C., has held several high-level offices within the organization including president-elect, vice president and secretary. During his term as president, Jacques plans to reach out to ASHI members as well as other professionals in the realty and home inspection industry.

Bill Loden of Madison, Ala. will join Jacques in 2013 serving as president-elect. An ASHI member since 1996, Loden was vice president last year and ASHI secretary in 2011. Looking ahead, he aims to attract new members, while also continuing to educate consumers on how understanding the condition of their property safeguards their large investments.

“As an industry leader, ASHI certified inspectors work with homeowners and buyers to protect their financial assets with comprehensive home inspections,” Loden continued. “Faulty plumbing, electrical system problems or unstable decks are only a few financial and physical threats at home where people want to feel safe.”

In addition, newly elected ASHI officers include:

  • Vice president – Scott Warga of Gilbert, Ariz.
  • Secretary – Randy Sipe of Spring Hill, Kan.
  • Treasurer – Michael Stephens of Fairfax, Va.

The organization also welcomes five new directors: James Allen of Overland Park, Kan.; Lisa Alajajian Giroux of Milford, Mass.; Scott Patterson of Spring Hill, Tenn.; Robert Peterson of Carmel, Ind. and Robert Walstead of Colorado Springs, Colo.
