Sarasota, Fla. (February 25, 2009) – The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) announced today that William Mason, a Sarasota, Fla., home inspector has won the Philip C. Monahon award. Mason received the award for his exceptional and innovative contributions to the ASHI membership.

ASHI created the award to honor the work of Philip C. Monahon, and to recognize the unselfish giving of time and talent to enrich the inspection profession and ASHI. The award was announced at the 2009 InspectionWorld Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Mason, who joined ASHI in 1988, has served two terms on ASHI’s national board of directors. He works with homeowners to ensure that their homes are natural disaster proof through his company, Second Opinion Home Inspection.

“William Mason has shown a devotion to the home inspection industry and furthering the goals of the American Society of Home Inspectors,” said William Richardson, ASHI president. “His efforts have helped homeowners protect their homes from natural disaster damage, benefiting not only the homeowners, but the insurance industry and the economy as well.”
