Frank Libero of Garnerville, N.Y., Receives Monahon Award
Frank Libero of United Inspection Consultants in Garnerville, N.Y., was awarded the 2006 Philip C. Monahon Achievement Award from the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) for his exceptional and innovative contributions to ASHI Membership. The award was presented by the Society in Anaheim, Calif., during the group’s recent Annual Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony held in conjunction with InspectionWorld 2007, the premier annual conference of professional home inspectors. Established in 1983, the Monahon Award, ASHI’s most prestigious honor, recognizes an ASHI Member who is dedicated to its goals and ideals as stated in the Code of Ethics and who, as a Member, has rendered outstanding contributions of time, talent and expertise to the Society for a minimum of five years. The Monahon Award recipient is selected by ASHI’s Awards Committee from nominees proposed by the general membership. In addition to a plaque, which is given to the recipient during the ceremony, an annual cash donation of $500 is made to the Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Mass., in the name of Philip C. Monahon. “Frank is a dedicated home inspector and a true professional in the ‘ASHI sense’ of the word,” said Douglas Hansen, 2005 recipient of the Monahon Award and this year’s presenter. “He is an advocate for growing ASHI’s Membership and demonstrates his commitment by encouraging newcomers to attend Chapter meetings.” Since joining ASHI in 1983, Libero has demonstrated his commitment to the growth of ASHI and the home inspection profession by holding a number of leadership positions. For the New York State Association of Home Inspectors, Libero has served as board member, vice president and president. Furthermore, he co-founded the New York State ASHI Leadership Council, was elected vice president and president of the New York Metro ASHI Chapter and served as chairman of the ASHI Public Relations Committee.
