Stephen Gladstone, president of Stonehollow Inc., Stamford, Conn., has been elected president of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), the leading non-profit organization for professional home inspectors.

Elected at ASHI's recent annual InspectionWorld Conference in Albuquerque, N.M, Gladstone will continue to emphasize ASHI's role as the leader in the home inspection profession. This includes rolling out new programs developed to ensure that ASHI members are providing a new standard for customer service - known as The ASHI Experience - within the profession. According to Gladstone, the goal of these new programs is to educate consumers, so they have the information necessary to make a confident home buying decision while providing extraordinary customer service before, during and after the ASHI inspection.

"Now in its 27th year, ASHI continues to grow and provide outstanding services for both home inspectors and consumers," said Gladstone, whose organization now represents nearly 6,000 professional home inspectors in North America. "The ASHI Experience is just an example of this commitment - developing programs and standards that improve the home inspection process and advance the profession of home inspection."

Gladstone added that in the coming year, a large education effort will be unveiled, providing outstanding technical and customer service training for its members. While ASHI's current standards have become a benchmark for the home inspection profession, these additional standards have been designed to provide home buyers and sellers with a variety of information in a way that allows them to make an even better informed purchase decision.

Officers Named

Along with Gladstone, several other ASHI members were named to prominent positions in the organization. Don Norman of HouseMaster Inspection Service, St. Louis, Mo., was elected President-Elect; Joseph Corsetto of Shelterworks, Inc., Dover, N.J., will serve as ASHI Vice President; and Frank Lesh of Home Sweet Home Inspection Company, Indian Head Park, Ill. will serve as Secretary.
