Conference/Course/Seminar Continuing Education (CE) Approval for ASHI Continuing Education

How do I get a course approved for Continuing Education (CE) Hours?

Please download and complete one of the following forms. If you are a member of ASHI (ASHI Certified Inspector, ASHI Associate with Logo, ASHI Associate or ASHI Affiliate) you qualify for the reduced member rate and should use the member application. If you are applying for an ASHI Chapter program, there is no fee, and you should use the Chapter application. If you are not a member of ASHI, please consider joining, but for right now, you would need to use the non-member form.

Application for Self-Study Programs – (Home Study/Online/CD-Rom) Must have verification of attendance, ie: test & certificate of completion)

How many CE hours is my course worth?

Basically, one hour of class time is equal to one CE. Some restrictions apply; for example, maximums are placed on certain programs, such as radon, mold, and other environmental programs. However, if these programs are offered sponsored or co-sponsored by a ASHI Chapter as an official chapter function, can be valid for up to 8 CEs. For approval as a chapter event, the application must be submitted by the chapter – no exceptions. For more information, contact Angela Orlando at angelao@ashi.org or by phone at 847-954-3187.

Who determines CE value?

CE policy and regulation is governed by the ASHI Education Committee. The Education Committee revisits yearly current CE policy. For more information, contact the Education Committee staff liaison, Angela Orlando, at angelao@ashi.org.

How long does it take to get a course approved?

ASHI requests 15 business days from receipt of your COMPLETE application. Applications completed incorrectly, that require judgment by the education committee, or received without required documentation and/or fee can be delayed until everything is received. Though, under normal circumstances it takes a week to 2 weeks for applications to be processed.
