Wed., 1/15, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Building Science and Structure

You'll learn how hurricane force winds affect buildings and how to build them to resist wind forces. We'll cover IRC code requirements and look at examples of good wind resistant building techniques regarding the structure itself, roof coverings, doors, windows and garage doors. You'll leave with a good understanding of what's required in order for a building to survive hurricane force wind events.
