This course is designed to provide a better understanding of electrical systems and components. The presentation will be both via power point slides and using actual components and models.

The course will cover Ohm’s law to explain the relationship of volts, amps, ohms, and watts in an electrical circuit. Solving resistive circuits in series, parallel, and combination configurations will be part of this section. A.C. and D. C. circuits will be compared and explained.
Definitions and proper terminology of electrical terms and components will be discussed.

The final presentation will cover panel inspections and common faults found in home inspections.

Mike Twitty, ACI began his home inspection business after retiring from a 30 year career at Ford Motor Company where he worked as an industrial electrician. After working with two multi-inspector firms, he founded Homescan Property Inspections in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. He is a licensed electrician in the state of Tennessee and is certified by the ICC in both residential building and electrical inspections. Mike currently serves on the technical review committee for the ASHI Reporter magazine.
