Why Attend
This one-day course is for those who want to prepare for the Healthy Homes Specialist Credential Exam. It will include a review of healthy homes principles and strategies which will prepare you for the exam. Healthy Homes
Specialist is the
only national
credential available
to certify expertise in
this field.
Who Should Attend
The course is designed for those who attended previous Healthy Housing classes or have substantial fieldwork experience in housing inspections, housing rehab/construction, weatherization, or public health. ASHI associates with logo status and ASHI Certified Inspectors are assumed to have the necessary practical experience needed to take this refresher course. Modest pre-class preparation work will be assigned in order to review materials needed to prepare for the exam. If you have five years of experience in housing or health, you are eligible to be credentialed as a Healthy Homes Specialist by the National Environmental Health Association. You will need to pass an exam and a visual assessment exercise to obtain the credential. At the end of the day (4:30 pm), you can take the exam (additional exam fee of $200 would be paid when you register) and the exercise (the exercise may also be completed on line after the course day). Most students typically complete the exam in 90 minutes (6 pm). Tuition for this full-day course is $349 (or $549 with the exam). (Please note that this tuition rate is for this specially-arranged class that is offered in conjunction with InspectionWorld, for the convenience of the many experienced home inspectors who will be traveling to Las Vegas, mostly to attend InspectionWorld. A similar, abbreviated “refresher” course is offered at various times and locations around the country, and at a variety of tuition prices – often locally subsidized by the sponsoring agency. Pricing for this special Bally’s course includes all instructor and other administrative costs in the tuition cost.)
Course Objectives:
1. Prepare students to pass the Healthy Homes Specialist Credential examination.
